• I’ve been shut out by someone I love
• I’ve never stopped thinking about her
• I’ve signed my life away
• I’ve earned the title of United States Marine
• I’ve learned how evil and wrong war and violence is
• I’ve regretted so many decisions and choices
• I’ve made new friends and I lost some too
• I’ve seen people try to fight inequality and get arrested
• I’ve seen people assault and harrass and be elected president
• I’ve given up hope
• I’ve gained hope
• I’ve been depressed

In the past five years I’ve learned that time changes everything in your life. I’m a different person from five years ago and I’m gonna be a different person five years from now. I hope in five years I’ll be able to look back, make a list, and the only thing on that list will be good things.
